A yummy and healthy khichdi made with mixed sprouts which has a hint of subtle spices like onions and garlic is also known as a poor man’s feast. • http://www.vahrehvah.com/sprout-khichd-1 • Ingredients: • Sprouts 1 bowl • Oil 2 tsp • Cumin seeds 1 tsp • Chopped ginger 1 tsp • Sliced onions 1 • Salt to taste • Curry leaves 1 sprig • Chopped or slit green chillies 3-4 • Turmeric ½ tsp • Black pepper ½ tsp • Broken wheat daliya ½ cup • Water As required • • Method : • In a pressure cooker take some oil and add cumin seeds, finely chopped ginger, sliced onions and salt. • Stir it nicely and add curry leaves, chopped or slit green chillies, pinch of turmeric, pepper powder and daliya. • Now add sprouts and mix it thoroughly. • Add enough water and cook it with lid on it for 5 whistles. • After 5 whistles switch off the flame and mash it properly. • Now take in a bowl and serve hot with coriander leaves, lemon juice or amchur powder on it.
