If the past is an illusion, it can't be real, can it? So many questions. • The first thing to recognize is there is nothing physical in the past. This isn't easy to understand because we have been programmed to believe that the past is a real place. Therefore, real things are there. No, nothing physical can be in the past. • You can test this. The past event you remember never happened the way you think it did. How crazy is that? • In the illusion, everything is illusory, and nothing is what you think it is. There is no past. You have been programmed to believe that the past is real. The only thing that is real in the illusion is the present moment. Once you realize memories are not events, your vision changes profoundly. There are no physical things in the past. All that is in the past are memories, and they are made up. • So what is the past? Nothing, and it does not exist except as make-believe memories. • So, is history real? The short answer is no! Your ego will not abide that answer and will tell you, That guy is crazy.
