Here is the opening to the 1998 Special Edition VHS of The Little Mermaid (1989). These previews are different from other Disney VHS releases of the time as they feature Jodi Benson (the voice of Ariel), as well as two CGI fish named Gil and Phil having a conversation about the previews. • A few other VHS releases of the time such as Mulan would also feature unique bumpers, but not to the seamless extent of this release. Also, isn't it a bit off-putting how we go from a shot of the dated-looking fish to the THX logo?
