A Week in Prison HMP Peterborough EXPOSED for Abuse Neglect and Discrimination

As those who subscribe to my channel may already know, I was unlawfully remanded to HMP Peterborough for a week at the end of May. • For saving lambs from a gory death, and for criticising Norfolk Constabulary, I was put on a wing with murderers, a woman who killed her baby, a child sex offender, a rapist, and multiple other dangerous and violent offenders, vulnerable, ill and damaged people. • What goes on inside this privately owned human factory is abhorrent, and I’m saying bollocks 🍒 to the non-disclosure order Sodexo forces prisoners to sign, and publishing the formal complaint I’ve lodged. • The public should know about the abuse, neglect and mistreatment prisoners are subjected to by these profiteers, and the detrimental effect this has on individuals and society. • Naturally my complaint focuses mostly on my personal experience and the negative aspects of that, so I will also make a follow up video speaking more broadly on my time there. • I was subjected to bizarre psychological abuse by two female employees, given non-vegan food and toiletries, denied important medication, and, quite conversely, treated like both a pre-schooler and a heinous criminal. • It may sound like I had a particularly bad experience, but the majority of employees are consistent in their conduct (abusive at worse, coldly indifferent at best), and there was nothing at all exceptional about my treatment bar the vegan element. • Whilst I know many will be thinking the types of people in prison deserve a rough ride- and I really do understand the reasoning behind that- the reality is it’s so much more nuanced than that, and not everyone who winds up in prison is an inherently bad or violent person. • Whilst a lot of prisoners 100% deserve to be where they are, many are victims of childhood abuse, have grown up in care, some would clearly be more suited to a mental health facility, and others have faced genuine miscarriages of justice. • Imprisoning offenders serves to protect the public, and the loss of liberty is punishment in and of itself. Authorities have no right to engage in cruelty or neglect as further punishment or through a desire to increase profit margins, and should recognise that this only perpetuates the issues time in prison it supposed to help to remedy. • *** • It’s important for me to add that going to prison has not had any impact on my resolve to fight for animal justice, and expose systemic criminality.
