The Hells Angels of Denmark got their beginnings as a ragtag bunch of teenagers on mopeds. Nonetheless, the exciting developments in the United States sparked an evolution into the first extreme motorcycle gang in the Nordic countries. As a result, they quickly became known as Europe's most feared and dangerous club. Nearly half of the original members, the filthy few, were convicted of murder and given lengthy prison terms. • In the bloody Nordic motorcycle conflict between the Banditos and the Outlaws, the Hells Angels emerged as the leading chapter, crushing its Danish opponents. The immigrant gang community became a target of their violent competition. • A former member of one of the immigrant gangs has admitted that the Hells Angels, Denmark, were a major influence. This respect, however, would set the stage for a bloody conflict between the two groups. • Thirty middle-class enthusiasts founded Denmark's largest biker club, the Nomads, and they were heavily affected by American biker culture in the club's early days. Many bloody episodes and a flood of biker movies in the 1960s and 1970s brought notoriety to America's biker clubs.
