Afrika(Emilio Thomas Sheldon Petillo) • Afrika embarks on a quest. She leaves her two sons - very capable young men, to forge their own life paths. In her absence, both sons are negatively influenced and misled by their townsmen and mutual conflict develops between the two. Constant arguing and relentless disagreements are the results. Neighbors decide to intervene by calling on Afrika to come home and restore the peace and balance that once was commonplace in her home. She returns and does just that. Both sons realize that the conflict was avoidable and wholly unnecessary, especially considering that they both know better because they were taught better by their mother. • This song tells the story of a woman, Afrika, who acts as a representation of the spirit and continent of Africa. It speaks to every single human on the planet who cries out for change - a shift from a state of turmoil to love as the default setting during the collective upheaval brought on by the pandemic.
