Listen for the squeaking! • I was sitting on the back step vaping this morning when I felt a tickle on my left foot - I thought that it was an ant, as it usually is - but when I looked down I saw this massive longhorned beetle! • This male Northeastern Pine Sawyer (Monochamus notatus) walked up onto my hand and up my arms and all around me! And it made squeaking noises like a mouse! I’ve never seen a pine sawyer beetle in person before, never mind a male this large! This encounter was so precious and exciting! I’m so glad that he tickled my foot! And look at his cute feet! Cute face!
