Chyrosran made a video of the weirdest switches and this was the #1 switch, which made me extremely curious. • Note that I have a reproduction switch and the switch in Chyrosran22's video looks a little different, however looking closely at the parts in his video confirms that the working of the switch should be identical as what is explained here.
