This is State of the Zeeborhood Address is late, but that’s pretty typical of me whenever I jinx myself with a self imposed public deadline, in hopes that it will force me to start writing early and meet it. • But, that’s never been how I write and I write when inspiration strikes. For me, that was Wednesday at around 5 PM. I’m going to let go of my perfection tendencies and just be relieved that I completed what I’ve been trying (and writing in my head) for the last year. • I intended to write out a statement and record it, announcing this round of fundraising for Electric Zee, but it turned into me pouring out my heart and telling the story of what I’ve been going through, but too afraid to speak about. • I’m famous for wearing my heart on my sleeve, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise some of the things I discuss in this piece. • It’s long clip of me telling you the story of my abrupt departure from my former station, the grieving that came from that action, my shame about failing, and my struggle to find where I fit in the workforce after doing a very niche job for twenty-seven years, a vocation that doesn’t really have job opportunities locally for me. • Yes it’s long and vulnerable but it’s sincerely from my heart to yours, because I have felt for the last year I owed you all an explanation. • In an attempt to keep it interesting while you listen, I added a bunch of photos from over the years. • If you have the time to listen, it would mean a lot to me.
