Many people will claim that having an AR in 5.56/.223 with a barrel less than 10.5 is foolish, but for those of us that do have them, they serve a very specific purpose. In order to maximize effectiveness, I decided to do some testing of my own with various ammunition shot into ballistic gel blocks. • In this first video of a series, I review the Hornady 75 gr 5.56mm TAP (Tactical Application Police) SBR ammo fired from my 8.1 5.56mm AR in to a homemade ballistic gel block created with a 1:9 ratio of 250 bloom gelatin powder to warm water. The block was shot at a core temperature of 39 degrees. • Feel free to comment with any questions you might have, and I'll be sure to answer! • 0:00 Short Barrel Problems • 2:18 Ammo Intro • 4:26 Testing Procedures • 5:35 Ballist Gel Test • 6:12 Ammunition Review
