In today's video we are learning Kata Heian Shodan, which is often taught as the first or second karate form in Shotokan Karate. • The kata is very similar to Taikyoku Shodan, but there are a few new moves and different karate stances. Instead of punches (oi zuki) down the middle, we do Age-Uke or rising block. Also at the end of kata Heian Shodan we do Shuto-Uke which is Knife hand block.
