Brother Natsuo and Touya Todoroki A BNHA Animatic

Hello Everyone! Finally, after months of hard work and procrastination, it’s finally finished! Half of me was hoping to have it done by Natsuo’s birthday on the 1st, but I figured it’s better to make sure it’s perfect instead of rushing it. • How long did this take? • I came up wit the initial concept sometime in January, and began working on it exactly five months ago today- February 3rd. The actual work time was over 40 hours. • What does your process look like? • Because I came up with this idea due to the song and it’s equally sad music video, I started listening to it and visualizing what I wanted to happen in each scene. I would sketch whatever I thought of literally anywhere- on my notebook in class, my sketchbook, even on receipt paper at my job. When it came to making the actual frames, I divided up the song by the choruses and lyrics, then began sketching. At first I did two sketches before the final drawing, but as I became more comfortable with the style and characters for the video, I could use just one. Then I did the shading on a different layer, and saved them all as jpegs (for the most part). I edited them together with the audio in Videoleap, and voila. If enough people want to know more about my editing, etc., I’m totally up for making a video to explain more in but for now my channel is small enough that that’s unlikely. • Is this canon? • No. It’s inspired by canon, and obviously the well-known theory that Dabi is in fact Touya Todoroki, but most of the occurrences in this animatic are my own (re)imagining of events. • Will you make more videos like this in the future? • Hopefully. I have many more songs on my “Animatics to Make” playlist, so maybe once life settles a bit more I’ll find some time for more works like this. • Who’s your favorite Todoroki? • Natsuo is best boi. When I started the series Shouto was the first character that really stood out to me, but as I got more and more interested in his family drama, I found myself projecting onto Natsuo, particularly after the events of chapter 252, which again was one of the main things that inspired me to make this in the first place. • Edit: I see a lot of you coming back after chapter 290, and I really appreciate the support!
