It is also non contagious. • You could help your child remove the excess scales by applying coconut oil or olive oil on their scalp for 3-4 hours before washing it off with a gentle hydrating shampoo like Johnson and Johnson baby shampoo or cetaphil baby shampoo. • In adults, treatment of seborrheic dermatitis includes a combination of • 1) Antifungal cream to remove the overgrowth of yeast on our skin • And if it occurs on the scalp, antifungal shampoo is also very helpful. • Some examples of anti fungal shampoo includes - nizoral shampoo, selsun or selenium sulphide shampoo, • 2) Steroid creams or lotions can also be applied on the affected areas to reduce the itch and inflammation.
