Zeus presents Street Fighter 1 - usa version (un-emulated) for the C64. A true classic from the golden era of C64 gaming which must not be forgotten alongside the software house and all programmers that were involved in making this game. • Year of release: 1988 • Here we have the USA version which was quite fun to play as you could do special moves. • There is no Sagat in this version weather you complete the game in novice, normal or expert level,...i have completed this with all the difficuly levels. • If you can prove there is a Sagat then please upload it. • I have also swapped the countries China and England around as the original arcade version England is country number 4, not 3, whereas all the home versions were the other way round. I believe they converted the home versions from arcade copy boards. • This was my second favourite ardade game (first being Tempest). Our arcade was lucky enough to have the 2-joystick 6-button version wheeled in on the day and everyone couldn't stop playing it. The Characters were huge and not seen before on this scale. No-one at that time knew the special moves so it really was a big deal at the time. Four games ruled our arcade that year, outrun, shinobi, double dragon and the top dog everyone wanted to play was street fighter, and to this day i have the original arcade game in a standard arcade cabinet at home! • Birdie was easily my favourite beat-em'up character, he was an awesome sight (until they ruined him turning him black,..who's ever heard of a traditional black british punk?! what a stupid decision and storyline plot). • Also, just a mention, do NOT believe the Street Fighter 1 arcade uploads here on youtube! They are all very jerky with distorted sound and promotes the game in a much more negative light than it deserves. I can tell you that being someone that owns the arcade game, it is very smooth with realistic characters and skin tones (unlike sf2 with stretchy arms and a big green bogey thing), it also has great music especially a game from 1987 (when the second channel of music is not playing, as heard on all the uploads), (check my upload of the soundtrack! the real deal!). • I'm fed up with people slagging it off, it deserves it's recognition and not deserving of these crummy fake arcade uploads, we all know they are emulators and not the real thing!!!! • I really hated arcade sf2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i think it sucked big time!!!!!!!!!!! • By the way, the people involved at us gold and go software house who were responsable for converting this game here in th uk listen up!!!!,...you need to stand up, walk to the nearest wall, turn around and face a firing squad for the garbage home versions you released, especially the Amiga and Atari st versions.
