The prison industrial complex (PIC) is a system used to exploit prison workers for cheap labor with no benefits, while entrapping prisoners into a system in which they are unable to rise up and create a better life for themselves. Because of the forced free labor, lack of benefits, and horrible system that keeps prisoners down I can't help but ask is prison labor and the PIC modern day slavery?
