An age old scenario: ancient humanity becomes corrupt or problematic, so a higher power elects to wipe the slate clean and begin the world anew. They send a great deluge, flooding the world and killing all save for select survivors who go on to recreate the world. Nearly 200 different flood myths exist across the world, from the Epic of Gilgamesh to Noah's Ark.
