In it, the Puerto Rican pop star who wrote the mega-hit “Calma” mines the genres and rhythms that he listened to in his youth - grunge, reggaeton, and Latin pop - to tell a story about personal growth through a kaleidoscope of experiences. Written and recorded throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, the album contains earnest reflections on death (“La Fiesta”), loneliness (“Volver a Casa”), and a relationship that refuses to end (“Una Vez Más” with Lali Esposito). “It took me back to the New York days when I lived over there and played in bars,” Capó has explained. “I went back to that aspect of my essence and it paid off.” The honesty and talent on display in the project connected so much with fans that it garnered him a 2024 GRAMMY nod for Best Latin Pop Album.
