The first trumpet lesson, the first instrumental lesson! Wow, how exciting! • For the students and of course for us teachers. But how do I design a lesson like this so that the new instrumentalist enjoys it and gets an exciting introduction to the world of the trumpet? After all, we want the young instrumentalists to enjoy coming to our lessons a second, third, etc. time. • The best way to break the ice is to greet them by getting on eye level and greeting them by name or, if the name is forgotten, asking politely. The most important thing is that we put the student and the trumpet at the center of this first lesson. • Through various small exercises, warm-ups, I can prepare the respiratory system for playing the trumpet, such as the blowing a piece of paper on the wall exercise or the blowing whistle, as you could see in the video. Deep inhalation and exhalation gets the air moving. • The next step in the series is the lips. We can warm them up with a variety of preparatory exercises so that we can then play notes on the mouthpiece. There are no limits to creativity! • Yes, and now it's time to get to work on the instrument! How do you hold the trumpet, what happens when you press the buttons at the top, the valves, and how do I have to blow into it if I want a quiet, loud, deep, high, short or long note to come out of the instrument. Of course, the student also has to prove that he/she has remembered how to hold the trumpet, so I ask him/her to show me again and of course also play a note on the instrument. • Now it's time to briefly go through the various points of what has been learned: • Breathing, • Lip humming, • Mouthpiece tones - buzzing • Trumpet tones • It is very important that the trumpet student is allowed to experiment freely in the first week in order to develop a good and free feeling for the instrument. • One sentence at the end: Never aim the trumpet at living beings! The trumpet can be very loud!!! • 💡 My recommendations: • * • Tomplay = digital music library: • https://tomplay.com/de/free-trial?ref... • 30% voucher code: NICO30 • Online basic course to learn the trumpet: • https://www.digistore24.com/redir/360... • The path to g3.
