Removing paint or other finishes from wood can be a hassle, but the orange strippers like the Citristrip brand make the task more pleasant and safer than with harsh chemical strippers. These products have been around awhile, but I though I'd demonstrate how well they work if you haven't tried them. Here I removed over 10 layers of paint from old columns, some of which was more than 100 years old. It is a multi-step process with that much paint, but it goes pretty quickly. There are no strong fumes with these products and the gel consistency makes it easy to apply.
