We swap the dirt for the bitumen on this day trip from Mackay as we explore Eungella National Park. • Eungella National Park is located approximately 85km to the west of Mackay through the picturesque Pioneer Valley, and is a popular day trip location for locals and tourists alike. • Eungella National Park boasts an array of beautiful bush walks. From half-day adventures to half and hour strolls. There is something for everyone. • Eungella National Park is also one of the easiest spots in Queensland to spot a platypus (or two or three like we did!). The boardwalk at Broken River with viewing decks allows all ages to get up close and personal. Wheelchair access is also made easy by the paved paths. • Several of the walks lead to spectacular views of the Pioneer Valley below. Our walk to the Sky Window did not disappoint. • Neither did our visit to the Eungella Chalet for lunch. An icon of the region, a lunch with a view is a must.
