Playdough Surgery 🔪🥚 - Ovarian Cystectomy - Part I • . • Here comes another two-part series starting in the OR and ending in the pathology lab. Hell hath no fury 🔥 like a 2-year old not allowed to ‘operate’ each time her older brother does... so he was happy to remove a very special tumor today for his sister to explore (stay tuned!). • . • Thankfully, most ovarian cysts don’t require surgery. When they do, a laparoscopic approach is usually preferred, but we opted to deliver via laparotomy today given our cyst’s large size. His first time with scissor dissection, and thankfully no “spill” 💦 - we saved it all for the gross room 🤪 • . • We seem prone to add-on procedures these days.
