Unfortunately, the “Call of Duty Killer” is going to be fully shut down on June 3, 2025. The F2P, arcade FPS game that brought back the nostalgia of simpler times similar to the older Call of Duty games sadly did not attract and retain enough players to be profitable, and Ubisoft made the decision to not only cancel the XDefiant project, but also shut down multiple Ubisoft studios. This is a big loss for the gaming industry and especially for COD/FPS fans, since XDefiant, imo, was a driving force in creating healthy competition for Call of Duty games. • In this video, I wanted to share my thoughts on some of my personal issues with XDefiant as well as some strategic errors that they made with the hopes that they (and potentially anyone else watching) can learn from. It was an amazing project with a great vision and talented people behind the project, but unfortunately it’s being cut short before some truly amazing things were going to happen for the game. Again, RIP XDefiant.
