Today we are going to continue or look at the most common causes of print failure for your Brother wireless printer • This video will cover multiple models and operating systems. Even though your machine may not match the model referred to on the screen the overall process will be the same. • There are several issues that could cause you Brother machine to fail to print. This video will focus on causes related to your machine’s printer driver. If you have not confirmed that the printer is correctly connected to the wireless network, please view part one of this procedure.    • Fix Brother wake from sleep problems ...   • Let’s begin by opening the Devices and Printers window on your computer. Click Start, then click Control Panel and then Devices and Printers. If your Brother printer is not listed, you will need to download the drivers from our website at www.brother-usa.com/support • Locate the icon for your Brother Device and double click it. • Next you will need to clear any document left in the print queue. • Click on “Printer.” • Then click “Cancel All Documents.” • And click “Yes” • If the printer icon is greyed out it means that your machine is offline. Return to the print queue window and click on “Printer” then inspect the resulting dropdown menu. If the “Pause Printing” or “Use Printer Offline” options are checked, uncheck them set your printer to online status. • If your printer remains offline you may need to verify your wireless connection. Please see part one of this procedure:    • Fix Brother wake from sleep problems ...   • Once the printer is online, verify that your Brother machine is set as the Default Printer. This will be indicated by a green check mark on the printer icon. • If there is more than one copy of your Brother printer icon, try printing to each one. Identify the copy that prints and set it as the default by right-clicking and selecting “Set as default printer.” Other copies can be deleted by right-clicking and selecting “Remove device.” • If you are still having printing issues, you may need to update the port information for your driver. Right click on the Printer icon and choose “Printer Properties.” Then select the Ports tab. Click “Add Port”. If the Add Port option is grayed out, contact your system administrator. • Double click “Standard TCP/IP Port.” When the Printer Port Wizard opens click “Next.” Then enter the IP address from the Network Configuration report you printed in part one of this procedure. Click “Next” and the Wizard will detect your printers Wireless connection. If you receive an Additional Port Information required error reboot your router by unplugging the power for 5 seconds. Once the router reboots run the Wizard again. • Once the Wizard has completed click “Finish.” Now click “Close.” Then click “Apply.” • Click the General Tab and then select “Print Test Page.” • If the test page prints correctly your troubleshooting is complete. • If not, you may need to uninstall and reinstall the drivers for your Brother Device. • For more Tutorials, FAQ's and Videos, visit us at www.brother-usa.com • An official Brother printer support resource
