Restoration Old Rusty Adze

Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. I found this rusty adze at flea market. I never had this tool. For the first look it's handmade by blacksmith. Sure, I bought it. • Restoration process: • I removed the old wood handle and used rust remover. Then washing in water with clinging agent and used oil for impregnation. The adze had a lot of cracks. I used angle grinder machine for crack expansion and all brewed by welding. Then I cleaned the welds and started making the cutting edge. • For the upper side I used belt grinder and for the bottom piece of aluminum tube with similar diameter like adze. I tempered the cutting edge in warm oil, and did the release in the oven at 220 degrees for 1 hour. I used sand papers from 60 to 3000 grit. • For handle, I used dry piece of wood and lathe wood machine to made handle for adze. • Finally, I used my homemade wax for wood finish.
