Once a persistent current is established within a superconducting coil, the current can continue indefinitely without an external power source. It sounds like it is against the law of conservation of energy. But the thing is true. There are magnets today that work that way. Electromagnets used in Japan's high-speed trains work like this. • If we think that Superconductors are just normal conductors with very little electrical resistance, then we are wrong.
