Hi! Everyone! Today we're going to show you how to make a sukiyaki-style dish which is a classic cuisine from Japan: Simmered Beef and Tofu(Niku-Dofu). • 肉豆腐 (にくどうふ) , pronounced as “Niku dofu”, is a sukiyaki taste dish, which is very delicious with rice. It’s simmered with a lot of tofu and beef, the tofu and vegetables have absorbed the savory beef broth. Delicious! • It's easy to make with only a few ingredients, and takes about 20 minutes to cook. It is kind of a quick and easy version of sukiyaki. Remove tofu's excess moisture. Put something heavy on top and leave it for at least 20 minutes. • 2. Cut the beef into bite size pieces, and add soy sauce and sake. Let marinate for at least 10 minutes. • 3. Mix the seasoned broth, add water, sugar, mirin, sake, soy sauce and mix well. • 4. Cut the scallion into 4cm diagonal slices. Discard the stems of mushrooms and slice into bite size. Cut the onion into 2.5 cm wedges. • 5. Cut the tofu into 4 equal portions. • 6. Heat oil in a pot over medium heat, fry the scallion for minutes until golden. • 7. Pour the seasoned broth. Once the broth is simmering, add the beef , spoon out the beef when the color changes to brown. • 8. Put the tofu into the pot, add the mushrooms and onion, once boiling, cover with a lid and turn to low heat and cook for 15 minutes. • 9. Add the beef back to the pan and cook for two more minutes. • 10. You can enjoy it immediately, or store overnight to eat, the flavor will be very better.
