Please consider supporting my art by buying me a Ko-fi ! https://ko-fi.com/ajaneitesews • I originally gave this presentation as part of a fashion show in February at Locust Grove in Louisville (before COVID-related lockdowns). The title of my talk is a play on the title of a work by Jane Austen called A History of England by a Partial, Prejudiced, and Ignorant Historian, part of her Juvenilia, which she wrote in 1791. My friends in the Indiana Historical Costuming Society kindly agreed to model their historical costumes while I talk about what I've learned in the past year since I began 18th century costuming. • INHCS on FaceBook:   / 277359459785045   • Instagram: @in.historical.costume.society • Models' IG handles: @ajaneitesews, @gracies.fancy, @rosehippcosplay, @swellanora, @historyonabudget, @fabricnfiction, @claricemstarlings • Saint Louis Historical Sewing Society on FB:   / 307273439757841   • IG: @stlgeorgians • Dames a la Mode video on Fashion History 1775-1785:    • 1775 vs 1785: A Mini Fashion Revoluti...   • Secondary sources (books): • Costume Close-Up: Clothing Construction and Pattern, 1750-1790 • by Linda Baumgarten, John Watson, Florine Carr • The American Duchess Guide to 18th Century Dressmaking: How to Hand Sew Georgian Gowns and Wear Them With Style • by Lauren Stowell and Abby Cox • The American Duchess Guide to 18th Century Beauty: 40 Projects for Period-Accurate Hairstyles, Makeup and Accessories • by Lauren Stowell and Abby Cox • An Agreeable Tyrant Fashion After The Revolution • by Alden O'Brien • Patterns of Fashion 1: Englishwomen's Dresses and Their Construction C. 1660-1860 • by Janet Arnold • 18th-Century Fashion in Detail • by Susan North
