On today's shootout we are looking at two chorus pedals. My vintage 1981 Boss Chorus Ensemble and the Analogman Bi-Chorus. The Bi-Chorus is based off of the EHX Small Clone, a darker and swimmier sounding chorus used by Kurt Cobain among others. The CE-1 was Boss's first ever effects pedal released in 1976! • My CE-1 has been modded by Analogman to have the correct input impedance (these effects were designed for keyboards), and true bypass. The Bi-Chorus has a toggle switch that affects the delay time, resulting in deeper/thinner vibrato and low end. • Both pedals have two sides. The CE-1 has a vibrato side with a depth knob. The Bi-Chorus has two identical sides with speed and depth knobs. This sets the bi-chorus apart from the small clone, which had just one knob. • 0:00 Shootout Intro • 0:19 Clean/Chorus Shootout • 4:10 Distortion Boss DS-1 • 6:10 Treble Booster/Overdrive • 7:44 DS-1 again • 8:57 Bi-Chorus Deep Switch Settings • Gear Used- • 2007 Fender Vintage Hot Rod '52 Telecaster • ('51 Custom Shop Nocaster Pickups) • 1965 Fender Blackface Bassman 2x12 (original Oxford 12t6 Speakers) • Strymon Flint • Boss DS-1 Distortion (Analogman Pro/Midrange Mod) • Analogman Sunlion (Beano Boost Side) • Analogman King Of Tone (Normal Gain Version) • Neumann TLM-103 • Let me know which chorus you prefer! Boss choruses like the CE-1 and CE-2 have a great shimmery bright sound. The Bi-Chorus is super flexible and warmer • and please subscribe! THANKS • #analogman #choruspedal #vintageguitar
