How to Harvest Basil

In this episode of Gardening 101, I will show you how to harvest basil! You can start harvesting basil when the plant is 6” to 8” tall. In my case, I let them grow until they were 2’ tall! That is a bit tall. You will find that as you prune basil, the plants will become more full and bushy rather than tall and “leggy.” By pruning these plants, you will get more basil at the end of the season (lesson learned).
