NOTE: You can think of this as a slow, straight 4 beats, or you could think of it like triplets and 6/8 time with 1 2 3 4 5 6 1 2 3 4 5 6 corresponding to the same 1 2 3 4 beats. Just depends on how your brain works! In any case, here is the general easy strumming pattens I would suggest to start... • 1 2 3 4 • D U U D U U D U U D U U • If you want closer to what I play, then try the following... • 1 2* 3 4* • D U U D DUM U D U U D DUM U • NOTE: On this DUM part, I am strumming Down, Up, and then for the M part IMMEDIATELY Down MUTE all six strings before finally doing a normal Up stroke before the next beat. That DUM is a fluid motion that you need to do slowly as if it is DUD (down up down). Just think of the M as a Down stroke where you just rest your hand on all strings instead of using your pick. It's like a little karate chop on the strings to mute them... Hiyahh!!! • Chord Savvy® aims to get straight to the structure and chords of songs without much wasted time.
