Volucella Hoverfly Takeoff

Got a glimpse of a female hoverfly (Volucella linearis, family Syrphidae) sitting on a graveled mountain trail. The moment of takeoff was replayed at 5x slow-motion. This species is known to be parasitic in hornets’ nests.
