Safety features like rear-view cameras and parking sensors are a huge help for drivers, taking this technology a step further to help in those in those tricky situations – the new Holden Captiva is available with rear cross-traffic alert. • • Radar sensors are located here in the rear corners of the vehicle scan for approaching traffic to the left and right. • • The radar sensors don’t scan directly behind the vehicle – there’s effectively a blind spot here, but your rear view camera takes care of that. • • If you’re backing out of a narrow driveway in between big buildings, or parked between two large vehicles this is brilliant. • • We’ve set up a demo – in a safe, blocked off car park. • • When you pop the car into reverse, as well as activating the rear view camera and parking sensors, it will also activate rear cross-traffic alert. • • We’ve all been here, I can’t see around the back of that car and have no idea if anything is coming.
