#littletouchleappad #atozadventure #leapfroglittletouch #littletouchatozadventure • The Little Touch LeapPad is a mini-sized LeapPad introduced in 2003 with volume at the top instead of in the interactive book. It also does not use a pen, and has a big touch sensor under the book pad. The book that comes with it is One Bear in the Bedroom , but it will not operate without a cartridge. • Contents • 1 Design and Technology • 1.1 3 Settings • 1.2 Age Appropriateness • 2 Trivia • Design and Technology • The Little Touch LeapPad comes with a handle already on it for carrying. It also comes with a small pillow to put on the back with velcro, making this Leap Pad lap friendly. The model has a library of books made of spine-and-plastic and these types will snap into the toy making it difficult for the infant to remove it. The cards just lay on the pad (with the book removed). The infant will need to push the green GO circle each time a page is turned, with a finger (instead of pen). • 3 Settings • Each setting makes it react differently to what he or she touches. • Level 1 (Music and Soundscapes) allows music and fun sounds to be heard on each page of the book in use. • Level 2 (Word Play) will identify what he or she touches and also plays fun sounds for each item. • Level 3 (Laugh and Learn) engages him/her in more interactive play encouraging letter, shape and item searching and games. • Age Appropriateness • This is designed for infants 6 months to 3 years. • Trivia • This toy came in three designs and two colors (blue or pink), and had either a British or American accent depending on the region. The voice is female for both, though some books have male. The most recent redesign was from around 2006, and discontinued in 2008. • To preserve battery life, the LeapPad will say bye bye and automatically turn off after several minutes of inactivity. • It will also auto power off when the batteries are low by giving a low battery warning, except it says It's time to change your batteries. You will need 4 AA batteries. • The on/off button was later replaced with an on/hold for off button in around 2004/2005 due to kids turning off the LeapPad randomly, thus the button is easy to reach. • When you insert a cartridge that is not compatible or the unit thinks it has an incompatible cartridge, it will loudly honk twice like a clown car, then say Whoops! That's not a Little Touch LeapPad cartridge. Bye-bye! Sometimes, it will only say bye-bye after the honk noise. • Unlike other LeapPad models, this one will not operate without a cartridge. • Without a cartridge, it will say Welcome to the Little Touch LeapPad Learning System! You'll need a Little Touch LeapPad cartridge and (learning) book to begin/get started. Bye-bye! ; other times, it will go LeapFrog. Bye bye. • This LeapPad is known for its high crystal clear sound quality.
