The South African Health Products Regulatory Authority will allow controlled access to Ivermectin in the treatment of Covid-19 under strict protocols and control measures. Accessibility protocols to the drug will be finalised and made public in the coming days. The regulatory body held a virtual briefing, to reiterated limited scientific evidence on the safe human use of the drug, but has acknowledged that it can be used to treat Covid-19 in limited controlled dosages.
