The crossing was upgraded with new gated signals on October 30, 2017 as part of the Victorian Government's Safer Country Crossings program. Prior to the upgrade the crossing featured four gate-less signals, with a Safetran mechanical bell on the southern median signal. This video shows the old signals • Level Crossing, Wodonga VIC, Australia. • Both new gated signals have Western Cullen Hayes bases, Western Cullen Hayes gate mechanisms, marked Westinghouse lights with Westinghouse clear LED's and Safetran Type 3 electronic bells. Both gates have Western Cullen Hayes gate lights. • It appears that the previous median signals have been retained and fitted with mast extensions to accommodate the new crossbucks. They both have unmarked bases and Westinghouse clear LED's. • The train shown in the video is the 07:05 V/Line passenger service from Melbourne (Southern Cross) to Albury, hauled by locomotive N457. The train was filmed from both sides of the crossing. • Filmed on May 1, 2019.
