It includes: • Story and dialogue tweaked to better fit events • New Digimon to recruit and Digivolve into (including DNA Digivolution) • Brand new Dungeons to explore, with new layouts • Digimon Skills changed and rebalanced • Menu and Battle UI redone to support more info • Digimon Re-name Attendant in the Colliseum • More • In the original Digimon World 2, protagonist Akira lives in Digital City, a town located in fictional Directory Continent , a land where digimon used to live peacefully. However, wild Digimon have began attacking Akira's hometown, thus provoking city defenses and the training of elite Digimon Soldiers. Akira joins a guard team that is charged with protecting the peace and security of the region. At the start of the game, Akira finishes his last training mission and joins one of the Guard Teams (the player has the option of choosing between the Black Sword Team, the Gold Hawks team, or the Blue Falcon team). He receives missions from the Team Leader, which involve entering Domains and hunting down evil Digimon. • Because it is a dungeon crawler, Digimon World 2 has vastly different gameplay from its predecessor, Digimon World, which focused on raising Digimon like pets. The player explores vast labyrinths dubbed Domains , inside a tank called a Digi-Beetle . These dungeons are filled with various things, including many types of traps including land mines, energy fields called Electro-Spores , giant stones, acid floors, treasure chests, and most importantly, enemy Digimon. However, the Digi-Beetle has a limited inventory, requiring careful management of items. Typically, at the end of each Domain there is a Boss, whether it be a lone Digimon, or another Tamer with a team of them. • Digimon World 2 can be played on the Duckstation Emulator. The version of the Alternative mod is currently v6.0. Graphics have been upscaled on Duckstation to x5 Native (1080p), with most other settings left on default. For a faster battle experience on Duckstation, hit ESC whilst playing DW2, go into 'Game Properties', click the 'Console Settings' tab in the horizontal row of icons at the top. Under CD Rom Emulation - change 'Read Speed' to 4x (8x Speed) 'Seek Speedup' to 8x. Enjoy! • Although we have played through the original Digimon World 5, it has been a while. The mod we are playing has also changed a lot of the game, so there are a few moments of learning done early on.
