Glyndwrs Way Part 2 Llanidloes to Machynlleth

Glyndŵr's Way is one of 15 National Trails in England and Wales, with an official distance of 135 miles (217km). It contains over 7,000m of ascent and is a real rollercoaster of a walk. • The trail was created in 2001, and so is a relatively new path. It celebrates Owain Glyndŵr, of course, the last native Welsh Prince of Wales. The route joins up a number of places associated with Glyndŵr rather than following a historical journey itself. It runs from Knighton on the English border to Machynlleth in the west and then back to Welshpool north of Knighton and also near the English border. You can easily turn the walk into a complete circuit by simply walking the two days of Offa's Dyke that run between the two trailheads. • Glyndŵr's Way typically takes around 9 days to walk. On that walk, you are unlikely to be complaining about the crowds, as it is relatively unpopular - largely a factor of its newness, and the fact it just seems to meander around in the middle of nowhere.
