Oltre che con un progetto dedicato a Fats Domino, Davell Crawford si esibirà quest’anno anche in trio e con questa formazione passerà in rassegna alcuni dei principali successi di Professor Longhair, Dr. John e in genere della musica Bluse-R B di New Orleans. Ad accompagnarlo il solidissimo bassista Barry Stephenson e il giovane batterista Le Shawn Elliot Lee. • • An homage to Professor Longhair Co.: come and dance! • Since his debut as a teenager – with the album Let Them Talk, released when he was only 19 – Davell Crawford has included a variety of genres in his repertoire, from gospel, R B, and funk to soul and jazz. The 40-year-old singer and pianist is not only considered one of the greatest musical talents from The Big Easy but also THE heir to the city's great piano tradition, which owes its beginnings to masters such as Professor Longhair and James Booker. Present in Ascona with an homage to Fats Domino, Davell Crawford will also be performing in a trio, presenting a collection of some of the Crescent City's greatest blues and R B hits, including music by Professor Longhair and Dr. John. Der 40-jährige Sänger und Pianist wird heute nicht nur als eines der grössten Talente von New Orleans geschätzt, sondern auch als der würdigste Erbe der grossen Klaviertradition der Stadt, der den Spuren von Meistern wie Professor Longhair und James Booker folgt. Neben seinem Fats Domino gewidmeten Projekt wird Davell Crawford dieses Jahr auch im Trio auftreten und in dieser Formation einige der grössten Erfolgstitel von Professor Longhair, Dr. John und im Allgemeinen aus der Blues-R B Musik New Orleans' vorstellen.
