Moments later, a massive explosion occurred, igniting a fireball that tore through nearby vehicles, motorbikes, and stalls lining the roadside. • Uganda Police spokesperson confirmed that 11 people had died at the scene, while more than 20 others were rushed to local hospitals with severe burns and injuries. The death toll is expected to rise as rescue efforts continue. Emergency workers, including police, fire brigades, and the Red Cross, responded to the scene within minutes, but the intensity of the fire made rescue operations difficult. • Among the dead were passengers in vehicles trapped by the flames and pedestrians who were caught in the explosion’s path.
