Bakery Style Easy French Bread is crusty on the outside and soft on the inside and is easy to make and tastes amazing. It is the perfect addition to any meal. • Find a printable recipe sheet available here: https://peachie.recipes/recipe/561 • Ingredients: • 1/4 cup warm water • 1 tsp active dry yeast • 1/2 tsp salt • 1/2 tsp sugar • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour • 1/2 cup warm water plus 1 Tbsp if needed • olive oil • coarse salt • Directions: • Combine 1/4 cup warm water (105-115 degrees F) with yeast and sugar in a bowl. • Mix to combine and allow to sit for 10 minutes until foamy and bubbly. • In a stand mixer, combine flour, salt, and 1/2 cup warm water. • Pour in yeast mixture. • Mix to combine and knead for about 4-5 minutes. Dough should be smooth and pull away from the sides of the bowl. Dough will be slightly sticky or tacky. Add more flour or water if needed. • Place dough into a bowl coated with olive oil. Cover with a towel and let rise for 15-20 minutes, should about double in size. • Place dough on a lightly floured surface and roll out into a 6 x 9 inch rectangle with a rolling pin. • Roll dough up from the long side, tuck ends under the loaf and place on a parchment lined baking sheet. • Cover and let rise for 15 minutes. • Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. • After dough has risen, use a sharp knife o cut three diagonal slits 1/4 inch deep into the bread. Brush lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt.. • We had some technical difficulties with the video footage. To clarify the steps: • 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. • 2. Place pan of boiling water onto lower shelf of oven. • 3 Place bread into oven and then turn the oven off. • 4. Allow bread to bake/rise for 20 -30 minutes. • 5. Remove pan of water and turn oven to 425 degrees F. leaving bread in the oven. • 6. The bread will cook for about another 10 minutes, until golden brown. Usually by the time the oven has preheated to 425 degrees your bread is done. If the bread is not done at the end of the ten minutes, reduce oven to 350 and bake for an additional 5 minutes longer or until bread is golden brown. • If you don't want to use the hot water method you can also bake it as follows: • Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. • After dough has risen, use a sharp knife o cut three diagonal slits 1/4 inch deep into the bread. Brush lightly with olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt. • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until bread is golden brown. • Place on a rack to cool. • Be sure and check out the complete written recipe by clicking the link below. • Find the full recipe here: https://www.yourhomebasedmom.com/easy... • SUBSCRIBE to my channel: https://www.youtube.com/yourhomebased... • SUBSCRIBE to my weekly FREE email and meal plan: https://view.flodesk.com/pages/5ff1e7... • BLOG: yourhomebasedmom.com • FACEBOOK: Your Homebased Mom • IG: Your Homebased Mom • CONTACT ME: [email protected] • Leigh Anne is that neighbor you love.
