Correction of a deviated nose often requires modulation of the nasoseptal L-strut, a segment of the dorsal and caudal septal cartilage. This procedure video illustrates a technique that leaves the dorsal cephalic root of the L-strut intact and uses it as a foundation onto which the remainder of the caudal L-strut is replaced with a straight autologous cartilaginous graft, ideally a segment of intact straight cartilage from the remainder of the septum. Procedure steps are: • Septum separation from the lower and upper lateral cartilages with resection of the caudal ventral septal component (00:45) • Grafts cut into proper pieces (01:13) • Placement of a large splinting graft in the same position as a spreader graft (01:28) • Read the article here: http://ja.ma/1RiJkNC. • This video depicts a medical procedure and is intended for use by medical professionals.
