T cells and B cells are two types of white blood cells, also known as lymphocytes, that play crucial roles in the immune system. • T cells: • T cells are a type of lymphocyte that develops in the thymus gland. They are involved in cell-mediated immunity, which means they directly attack infected or abnormal cells in the body. • T cells recognize specific antigens on the surface of these cells and coordinate immune responses to eliminate them. • B cells: • B cells are another type of lymphocyte that develops in the bone marrow. They are responsible for humoral immunity, which involves the production of antibodies to target foreign invaders such as bacteria, viruses, and toxins. • B cells express unique antibody receptors on their surface, allowing them to recognize and bind to specific antigens. • When activated, B cells differentiate into plasma cells, which produce and release antibodies into the bloodstream to neutralize pathogens and mark them for destruction by other immune cells. • Together, T cells and B cells play complementary roles in orchestrating the immune response to protect the body against infections and other threats. • Subscribe to my newsletter through my website www.myautoimmunemd.com where I send out information on news on rheumatology, autoimmune disease, and integrative medicine! • Social Media: • If you like my content then you can follow me on • IG: / myautoimmunemd • FB: / myautoimmunemd • Tiktok: / myautoimmunemd • Website: www.myautoimmunemd.com • Making Appointments with my Private Practice: • Make clinic appointment here: www.drlifestyle.org • My clinic is located in Newport Beach, California.
