A new herbicide known as Weedual/ Hard Hit 25 OD has been introduced by Suncrop and Ali Akbar Group. It consists of isoproturon plus cyprafluon and has been claimed for the control of resistant grassy weeds like Dumbi sitti (Phalaris miner), Surmchu ghas (Alopecurus myosuroides) and most annual dicot weeds. This herbicide has proved itself as an exceptional Surmchu ghas killer. It is very selective and more safe herbicide than most formulations of mesosulfuron plus iodosulfuron. However, this is a costly herbicide beyond the reach of poor farmers. • Use of herbicides has become essential in crop to control weeds of different types. If weeds are not controlled in time, they use the food and nutrients available in the soil that must be used by the crop we have planted. In this way, weeds decrease the overall production of crop.
