Dino’s Tinker Shed, S2 Ep, Today, I show you how to rebuild a SkiDoo front suspension with Oillite bushings. • In this episode, I show you how to install Oillite bushings into a 2005 SkiDoo REV with the RAS front suspension. This is a relatively easy job that most home mechanics can handle on their own with simple hand tools. • When SkiDoo released the REV chassis in 2003 it can with a fully independent, double A arm front suspension known as the RAS. This was not the first of its kind to hot the snow but was a giant leap forward in comfort and handling for most conditions that riders were operating the machines in. • The suspension worked very well, however owners soon found out that the DELRIN bushings used to pivot the control arms had a shorter than expected service life and replacement of the bushings became a routine maintenance task if the rider wanted to keep the sled handling its best. • A better solution came along when the aftermarket started to produce “Oillite” bushings from oil impregnated bronze. This material was more durable, self-lubricating, and almost as affordable as the stock DELRIN but would last much, much longer. • In this video I will show you how to install these bushings yourself and re-claim the handling of your REV chassis. • Support the channel by purchasing merchandise • DinosTinkerShed - Etsy Canada • I have included time code chapters below to help you skip through the video if you like. • TIME CODE CHAPTERS: • 00:00- Cold opener • 01:10- Introduction • 01:29- Overview • 03:57- RAS overview • 07:23- Control arm removal • 09:33- Inspecting the old bushings • 09:51- Review of the new bushings • 10:30- Installing the new bushings • 12:54- Servicing the upper control arm • 17:08- Re-assembly of the RAS • 23:37- Final thoughts • • MUSIC: • Country Cue 1 by Audionautix is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. https://creativecommons.org/licenses/... • Artist: http://audionautix.com/
