Sanditon is a period drama based on an unfinished novel by Jane Austen. • In this scene from the first series, Charlotte Heywood attends a ball where she is left on her own (except for a pity dance). She escapes to a nearby room and finds another escapee, Lady Susan Worcester, already there. The conversation eventually turns to Charlotte's feelings for Mr. Sidney Parker. The entire series is good but the knowledge Lady Worcester passes on is a surprise for Charlotte but it's so, so true. The way she expresses it delights me every time I think of it.
