It's competing in a tough class though, taking on rivals like the MINI Countryman and the Mercedes GLA. So it may have style, but out on the road, does it have the substance to compete against the best in the class? Can the Q2 cater for families, or are there more practical alternatives? Hani Musthafa is reviewing the newest baby 'Q' to find it out. • Audi Q2 Exterior - While the Q2 is designed to be different, it is still an Audi, and therefore isn’t a design that shouts out loud or draws attention to itself. That ice-cool, understated Audi demeanour is there in spades and the more you look at the Q2, the more you appreciate its chiselled features. While the Q2 may only be 4.2 metres long, it has a strong shoulder line, gently bulging wheel arches and fast roofline. And then there’s the wide rectangular nose with its multiple trapezoidal details. • Audi Q2 Interior - The Q2 may be small on the outside and only has as much space on the inside as your average mid-size family SUV, but given the shadow it casts on the ground, packaging is still good. There’s more than sufficient place for those sat up front, both front seats are extremely supportive and comfortable, and finding the right driving position is also easy. The India-spec car, however, has no powered seats – a shocking omission, and there’s no touchscreen either; probably in an effort to keep the price in check. • Audi Q2 Features - Audi Q2 comes donning a sporty black interior theme, while the features include multifunction steering wheel, Audi virtual cockpit with 12.3 inch TFT display. The centre console will sport a touchscreen infotainment system, while the 14 speaker sound system developed by Bang and Olufsen gives the occupants a true premium music experience. The dashboard and the centre console gets silver accents, while the HVAC vents come round shaped. The steering wheel, seats and the upholstery inside the cabin would come wrapped in premium quality leather. The car gets sport seats, while in terms of space inside the cabin Audi Q2 doesn’t disappoint at all. • Audi Q2 Price - Audi Q2 has been officially launched in the Indian market on Friday at a starting price of ₹34.99 lakh. It is available in two grades - Exterior Line and Design Line, and five time levels - Standard, Premium, Premium Plus I, Premium Plus II and Technology.
