We visited the abandoned house of Nilsiän öljysheikki in Nilsiä. It was not completely abandoned, because there was some new windows. Tauno Kuosmanen was well known of his mental illness. I search some information about the Nilsiän öljysheikki • Tauno Kuosmanen (1928-2008) was a Finnish entrepreneur living in Nilsiä, who was known as Nilsiä's oil scarf. He became known in 1986 for the television program Karpo thanks to the fact that Kuosmanen was dressed as an oil spinner. Kuosmanen was owned by a company called Man-Oil, which cleanse waste oil, including lubricating oil. Kuosmanen even offered people a refined oil to medicine for various illnesses. After Karpo's program, Kuosmanen circled especially in the late 1980s around Finland, performing and selling Man-Oil's products at the opening ceremonies, fairs and markets. There was also a lot of tourists visiting Nilsi in these days. • Kuosmanen lived in the 1970s at Vesilahti and learned the skills of oil purification while working at Kajomeri Oy's waste oil treatment plant at Lempäälä, Finland between 1950 and 1978. Kuosmanen founded his own company already at Vesilahti Asylum, but at full speed, oil purification did not succeed until after Nilsiä moved. Kuosmanen used the Manoil brand at the time, while Kajomeri produced a lubricating oil from Meroil. Tauno Kuosmanen died in 2008 at the age of 79, but the legend of Nilsiän öljysheikki has not been forgotten. • There's some videos about Nilsiän öljysheikki • Karpolla on asiaa - Nilsiän öljysheikki (osa1) • • Video • Karpolla on asiaa - Nilsiän öljysheikki (osa2) • • Video
