A popular upgrade for any manual 2011-2014 Mustang, swapping the stock MT-82 shift knob with a Modern Billet Retro 6-speed shift knob is a tasteful way to add some classic 60's style to the interior. Available in satin black, satin white or a bright aluminum, each knob features the standard 6-speed shift gate pattern and is threaded to accept a 12mmx1.25 rod pattern. A new shift boot retainer is included with each knob as to fill the when replacing the factory piece. • Billet Aluminum or Solid Resin. Modern Billet makes these retro style shift knobs out of two materials. They are available made from billet aluminum or less expensive solid resin. The billet aluminum knobs use 100% T6 billet aluminum and are the premium of the two, having a very nice weight and feel to them. The solid resin knobs come either black or white, and while slightly less hefty than the billet aluminum, they offer a nice feel as well and due to the resin being either naturally black or white, there is no paint to flake off. • No Modification Necessary. Replacing the stock MT-82 shift knob of your 2011-2014 Mustang with a Modern Billet Retro 6-speed shift knob is as simple as unscrewing (by hand) the OEM knob off of the shift rod, changing the shift boot retainer and screwing the new Modern Billet Retro knob back on.
