In this video I will show you the new Ring Alarm Outdoor Siren. This outdoor siren for the Ring alarm is a nice addition to the Alarm Security System. I show you how to setup the siren in the Ring App. Also, the Ring outdoor siren installation. The burglar alarm bell box is shaped like an octagon. The siren is added as part of the Ring security system and can be controlled from within the Ring App adding to your smart home solution. • In this Ring outdoor siren review, I will show how you can use the 3x D Batteries supplied with it as well as the Ring Removable Battery Pack or a Hardwired option and then the Solar powered option. • The Siren has a dusk till dawn or dusk to dawn feature where the logo 'ring' can glow from dusk to dawn. For this to take place you have to have the D Batteries as a power source as well as any of the others. So 2 power sources are required for this feature to work. • The Ring app also allows you to manage the LEDs lights on the unit as well as the volume and duration of the siren when it sounds. If the sound setting it set to silent and the Ring alarm is triggered, the Ring siren will emit a Red LED light around the edges. • There are 5 volume options available. In the outdoor siren review, the loudest is estimated to be 100db at 1m from the siren. You will hear 4 siren tests that I perform. • There is also an option to set a timer for how long the Ring siren can sound for - this ranges from 1min to 10min going up in 1min increments. • The Ring Outdoor Siren runs off Z Waves to communicate with the Ring Security Alarm Base Station and the range is 76m line of sight. As more obstructions are placed in the way the signal strength is reduced and the distance as well. So, ensure you run the connection test where you want to install the outdoor siren before mounting it to the wall. • In the Ring outdoor siren review you will see in the video next to the image of the siren there is a small orange pop up that appears and disappears. This is the anti tamper switch on the back of the device. This will alert you via the app as well as a push notification via the Ring app that the device has been tampered with or removed from the wall. • When installing the Ring outdoor siren, make sure the back plate is flat against the area you are fixing it to - Ensure the plate is not bent or warped by uneven brickwork etc as this will make it harder to place the front panel back onto the clips provided. There is also a small security screw under the device that holds the front plate onto the walled mounted back plate. So, when mounting the device - ensure you have space for a screw driver to get to this screw and nothing is in the way. Ring also suggest leaving about 1inch or 2.5cm clear around the device. • Links to Ring Products: • Ring Solar Panel - https://amzn.to/3Au5An7 • Ring Rechargeable Battery - https://amzn.to/3ut5N6d • Gutter Mount - https://amzn.to/3PaTWSt • Ring Spotlight Cam Battery - https://amzn.to/3nH9UYx • Ring Stick Up Cam Battery - https://amzn.to/3NPYE6J • Ring Alarm 5-Piece Kit (1st Generation) – https://amzn.to/3NJaf7B • Video Chapters: • 00:00 - Intro • 00:11 - Packaging • 00:30 - Unboxing • 01:02 - View Of Outdoor Siren • 01:27 - Back View • 01:57 - Removing Plastic Film Protector • 02:21 - Size Comparison Dimensions • 02:32 - Removing The Back Plate • 02:52 - Removing The Battery Cover • 03:49 - 4 Power Options • 04:21 - Dusk To Dawn Explained • 04:43 - Adding The Siren In The Ring App • 05:00 - QR Code Scan • 05:22 - Remove Battery Tab • 05:36 - Room Device Name • 05:50 - Setup The Siren • 06:04 - Signal Strength Test • 06:17 - Mounting The Device Tips • 06:44 - Power Source Selection • 06:49 - Ring Removable Battery Pack • 07:07 - LED Options Dusk To Dawn • 07:18 - Volume Settings Siren Duration • 07:32 - Siren LED Test • 07:47 - Anti-Tamper • 08:01 - Siren Sound Test • 08:30 - Recommendation Final Thoughts • I have placed more info from Ring below with regards to operating temperatures, size and colour etc. • Dimensions • 23.5 cm x 23.5 cm x 5.7 cm • Colour • Blue • Power and Connectivity • Power • Supports D Batteries (3 x D batteries), supports Quick Release Battery Pack, supports DC power input (9-28V, 12W ) • Connectivity • Z-Wave (76m range to Base Station open air, line of sight) • Installation • Mount to flat walls • Operating conditions • -20°C to 49°C, Weather Resistant • Setup requirements • Requires Ring Alarm Base Station (sold with Alarm Security Kit).
