Welcome to the first video in a series I have called 'A Naturalistic Way'. • The aim of this series is to show how you can create naturalistic and enriching enclosures for your animals. • This one is showing you my Varanus acanthurus or Ackie Monitor enclosure. • Here you will see how my pair act over the course of a day and exhibit some natural behaviours yet remain hand tame. This is contributed to 2 factors. • The naturalistic setup which provides enrichment. • The way I feed them which you will see later in the video • To learn more about the build check out the link to the Facebook post below: • / 2140311999549198 • Scatter feeding: • With the use of grasses and leaf litter scatter feeding encourages the foraging. I scatter feed either roaches, locust or crickets mixing it up every 2-3 days. • Hand Feeding: • I hand feed them once a week. This keeps them used to me and hand tame and gives me a chance to give them a visual heath check.
